  • Executive Committee CB 3 meeting November 20, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm ommunity Board 3 Office, 59 East 4th Street

The BID is pushing forward with their proposal to “privitize CBs” (our turn of phrase since there is no other way to characterize their plan to become involved with the licensing process and “policing” stipulations).

The plan is supported (as reported from those in attendace at the last meeting) by CB3 Chair Alysha Coleman and DM Stetzer. Chair Coleman argues that the BID will cut down on workload of CB members and help police stipulations (how and is that even legal)!?

This plan if approved could be adopted citywide and would have detrimental consequences by limiting civic engagement (even further than it already is) and transparency—pushing the private interest of landlords and biz over the public interest.
